CAN·TAP Verified
⚡ Setup in five minutes

CAN-TAP Setup Guide

Your CAN-TAP Verified sign arrives pre-programmed to your Google review page. No app, no account, no technical setup. Here is the exact five-minute routine every Canadian business should run on day one.

1

Unbox and check the QR backup

Pull the sign from the box. The front is the tap zone — that is the side customers hold their phone against. The back has your unique QR code printed as a backup, so older phones without NFC can still scan through their camera.

If your sign came in the Verified Kit, you will also find your window decal, counter card, and a printed trust certificate. Keep the certificate on file — it is your proof of verification.

2

Tap-test with your own phone

Unlock your phone. Hold the top of the phone — where the NFC antenna lives — against the centre of the sign for about one second. A small notification appears at the top of the screen. Tap it. Your business's Google review page opens immediately.

Nothing happens? Most phones from 2018 onward have NFC, but it might be switched off. iPhone: NFC is always on from iPhone XS and later. Android: open Settings → Connected devices → NFC and turn it on.

3

Put it at the point of happy

The single biggest mistake Canadian business owners make with review signs is burying them behind a reception desk. The sign goes where the customer is already pleased — the counter right after they pay, the service-advisor desk right after they sign off on the work, the chair at the spa the moment a treatment ends.

Eye-level, within arm's reach of a seated or standing customer. Not on a wall six feet away.

4

Train one sentence

Everyone on your team learns the same line: "If we took good care of you, tap here — it takes fifteen seconds."

That sentence is the difference between 1% of customers leaving a review and 15% of customers leaving a review. The sign is the tool. The ask is the trigger.

5

Watch reviews land

New Google reviews typically start arriving on day one. If you ordered the Verified Kit, your listing page on can-tap-verified.com goes live within 24 hours and your email trust badge arrives the same day — drop it in your email signature and your website footer and the halo effect starts right away.

If you are on the Reputation Engine plan, your weekly report starts arriving the following Monday. It shows new reviews, star-rating trend, and AI-drafted replies ready for you to approve.

Setup FAQ

Do I need an app?

No. The sign is pre-programmed. A customer taps their phone against it and the Google review page opens in the phone's own browser. No app, no account, no login.

Will it work on iPhone?

Yes. Every iPhone from the iPhone XS (2018) and later has always-on NFC — no setting to toggle. Customers tap the top of their phone to the sign and the notification appears.

Will it work on Android?

Yes. Nearly every Android phone sold in Canada from 2017 onward has NFC. On most phones it is on by default. If it is off, Settings → Connected devices → NFC switches it back on.

What if my customer's phone is too old for NFC?

The back of every sign carries a QR code as a backup. The customer opens their camera, points it at the QR, and lands on the same Google review page.

Can I reprogram the sign to a different Google profile later?

Yes. If you move locations or rename the business, send us a note and we will reprogram your sign remotely or ship a replacement under the Verified Kit plan.

How long before my Google rating moves?

Most Canadian businesses using CAN-TAP see their first new review within 24 hours. Aggregate star rating typically ticks up inside 30 days once you are getting a steady flow of fresh reviews.
